Russ Danzey, 16, is training to become a top racing driver.
What do you love most about being doing what you do?
I love the thrill of challenging myself and getting the best that I can from my car.
Why do you think you are successful at what you do?
I have always wanted to succeed at what ever I do and I found that motorsport was an area that I could do just that, it has taken a lot of training to get there and there have been days when I have driven round the circuit in snow or rain to get myself up to the pace.
How do you keep motivated?
The big thing is to keep getting out there, it is so easy to stay motivated to race, as it is my passion, the hardest side is to keep talking to companies to raise my profile as motorsport is such an expensive sport. My family and friends have been an incredible support in this and I am really grateful to them
What would you say to a young person who is feeling uninspired about life and work?
Try to visualise where you would like to be and work out a plan as to how you could get there. You don't know unless you try and it won't always work out. I have had to change my path many times due to lack of funding but I am still on my course to where I want to be.
What do you think about The Big Academy and the work we’re trying to do, in helping all young people to get inspire and achieve success?
It is great to have support and someone that can help to advise you. Big Academy can help young people on their way with a career choice.
